One of the greater successes of the newer varieties. The pink lady has a pink blush over a greenish yellow base skin. It is a crisp apple with a dense, firm flesh and an excellent, almost effervescent flavour. The Pink Lady was developed in Australia in 1973 and is a cross between Golden Delicious and Lady Williams. This is an excellent eating apple with a mouth watering crunch that can also be used in salads, sauces and pies. To store: Apples keep best in the crisper in your fridge. They keep for up to 3 weeks. At room temperature they ripen too quickly and become mealy after 2 days.
