Marjoram is a herb of the mint family with oval, inch-long green leaves with a mild, sweet, oregano-like flavour. Marjoram is one of the most popular Mediterranean herbs used for its culinary and medicinal values since ancient times. It is mildly savoury and works well, usually with thyme, in stuffings, soups, sandwiches, dumplings, savoury breads and scones. It mixes well with other herbs. To Prepare: Add near the end of cooking as heat will destroy its delicate flavour. To Store: Wrap a piece of folded absorbent paper round the end of the stem, wet it, enclose loosely in a plastic bag and refrigerate.
